My name is Dina, and I am a mother fighting to keep my two young children alive. Nine months ago, the occupation tore my husband away from us—the man who was my strength, my partner, and the loving father to our children, Juri (7) and Zain (6).
He was taken, and we don’t know where he is or if he will ever come back. My children cry for him every night, their tiny voices asking, “Where is Baba? Why hasn’t he come to save us?” I have no answers for them—only heartbreak and the fear that they will never see their father again.
When the tanks came, we were forced to flee our home in Rafah. Now, we are stranded in Mawasi Khan Yunis, living in a tent made of torn nylon and scraps of wood.
My children and I are alone, surrounded by cold, hunger, and fear.
Every day, I walk long distances to fetch a little water. Every night, I search for firewood or leaves, anything to make a small fire to warm my children or cook the scraps of food I manage to find. But there is never enough.
Juri and Zain are growing weaker. Their tiny bodies are trembling from hunger and cold. They miss their father, the man who loved them, protected them, and made sure they were never hungry. Now, they look to me for answers and comfort I can no longer give. My heart breaks every time I see the tears in their eyes, every time they whisper, “Mama, will Baba come back tomorrow?”
I am desperate. My husband is gone. My children are starving. I have nothing left but the hope that someone, somewhere, will hear our cries.
With your support, I can give my children a chance to survive. The money raised will be used to buy a new tent so we can have proper shelter, food to fill their empty stomachs, clean water so they can drink without getting sick, and warm clothing to protect them from the cold. It will also help me find basic necessities—blankets, firewood, and medicines—things I can’t provide on my own.
Please, your kindness could mean the difference between life and death for my children. Every dollar can help me rebuild a small piece of their lives. Juri and Zain have already lost their father. Don’t let them lose their chance to live.
From the depths of my broken heart, thank you for hearing .
Dina
